Since
1984, CTEC has been an active partner in the community. Each year,
our corporation supports cultural events, youth activities, local
schools and charities. The contributions that we make have a
positive impact in our area and abroad. The corporation contributed
over $90,000 to fund the
“Annual Donation
Program,”
which supports charities like: Make-A-Wish Foundation,
Relay-for-Life, Special Olympics, American Cancer Society, Juvenile
Diabetes Research, and elder and youth activities. The corporation
gave close to $80,000 in sponsorships to support community events.
The
partnerships we have built include working with the Coulee
Corridor, which has extended its scenic byway from Othello to
Omak. This has become a National Scenic Byway which brings tourists
from all over the country.
Affiliated Tribes of
Northwest Indians (ATNI) participated in our 2003, 2004 and 2005
Tribal Economic Development Summit and they continue to be a
resource for us.
As a
member of the Grand Coulee Dam Chamber, we are provided an
atmosphere for relationship building and communication. We inform
the business community about the activities CTEC is involved in. We
work with area businesses and the Tribe to promote events like the
Columbian Triathlon, the 4th of July Fireworks Show, the
Omak Stampede, and activities for children to promote health and
awareness. Our employees have been involved in organizing and
participating in local college fairs to encourage students to
further their education. CTEC continues to support our youth,
$18,000 in college scholarships were awarded in 2006.
As a corporate citizen,
we contribute dollars to programs and services that we believe in
and work to improve the health and welfare of our tribal members and
the community.

The CTEC organization understands the
importance of giving back to their communities, which is why many of
its staff volunteer their time. Every year, CTEC works diligently to
give back even more contribution dollars. This in turn helps to
strengthen our relationships with our local community and the 9,000+ members of the Colville Confederated Tribes.
